Roaming messages are a missed opportunity

Or the importance of embodying your brand

Roaming Messages. Whenever you land in a new country, your carrier will let you know you’ll pay extra for calls, texts, and data (unless you’re from the EU!).

What bugs me about these messages is that they’re so insensitive.

I get it, maybe it’s because of regulations - or maybe it’s because these companies are boring and can’t think outside the box.

Imagine landing in a new country and getting a funnier messages, one that you actually remember:

Bienvenue en France! We hope you delight yourself in the amazing food.

¡Bienvenido a España! We’re sure you’ll be back with a wonderful tan.

Willkommen in Österreich! It’ll be snowing this week - enjoy the Alps!

And by the way, you could even personalize this according to the city where they land.

Being memorable doesn’t have to hard. You just need to have someone responsible for making it happen.

💡 Exercise for you: think of all the communications you do with your users and customers - are you embodying your brand in all of them?
